Breckenridge 100

Great Job Matt, Emil and Neil on finishing the 100 mile Breck 100.  This race took them over mountains, through rivers and offered more epic views than many of us will see all year long riding our bikes.  With over 14,000 vertical feet of climbing, this race was only for true survivors.  Way to go guys!!

Muddy Mountain

For most mountain bikers, muddy mountain is their favorite place to ride.  From technical singletrack to the most epic views you've ever seen, this area has it all.  If you've never been, check out our "trails" tab near the top of this post to see a map that one of the Fat Fish put together.  The next Fat Fish event will be on Muddy Mountain and we are expecting a dewzzy of race.  The race hosts have an awesome course planned and when we get that map up there, just be sure your careful out there while pre-riding. Don't go pulling a Travis and break your arm doing stunts off some of the rock features on the course.  It sure has been fun racing with all of you this summer and I am pumped for next Monday's race.  Also, don't forget that August 12th is the first ever Wyoming High School Mountain Bike Race on Casper Mountain.  Any and all kids from 9-12th grade will get to compete against other kids around the region.   Some Colorado teams are invited even, so be ready to kick some butt :)

For now, enjoy these pictures from the last Fat Fish Race on Muddy Mountain and please, keep the rubber side down!!

We found some trail goodies after the last race... yours?? email to claim.

A little direction

For those of you who do not know where we race on Muddy Mountain, I'll try to give you some good directions. Most likely you'll be able to follow the line of bikes on top of cars and trucks. Remember that parking is limited and to car pool if at all possible.

Go up Casper Mtn. Road and stay on it past Bear Trap meadow. The pavement will end and you just continue straight. You shouldn't have to turn off this road at all until its time to park. Stay on the gravel road and you will start your climb up Muddy Mountain. If your teeth are bouncing out of your mouth due to the nasty washboard, then your on the right track. When you show up ready to ride with a big ole grin, we'll give you a big toothless smile right back. After a ways the road will level out and you will be heading predominately east. You will cross a cattle guard with a gazebo shortly after. Here the road splits. Stay left and it will take you past the Rim Campground. (Make note of this as you can come up on the weekends, campout and ride your bike on these new trails you just learned). The road will make a sharp curve to the right and you will be headed due South. Not to far after this is where you will park and get ready for another great night of Fat Fish Racing.

Good Luck! Be Careful! Thanks for coming!
